Making ‘em Like They Used To: Star Guard
A game of minimal controls and beyond minimal graphics, it pulls off the remarkable feat of evoking a grim invasion – you as one of a Spaceman army invading a Wizard’s fortress, occasionally encountering doomed comrades, but always pushing on, against the endless tide of bright red monsters. Ah, even names like ’spaceman’ and ‘wizard’ are so warmingly reminiscent of an age when a character required only a title, not a complicated backstory, love interest, long-lost son, eight different kinds of amnesia and the forename Jack.
All this is set to to a strangely affecting mix of plinky-plonk retro noises and semi-nihilist messages from your unseen commanders. Incredibly accessible yet nonetheless fairly hardcore in its way, it’s bleak, charming, clever and masterfully minimalistic. Grab it for no-pennies from here.

Evaluando estrategias para contactar con los desarrolladores, que me inviten a sus oficinas a probarlo y, una vez seguro de que todo el material sensible está dentro del edificio, volarlo por los aires. Cyberdyne Systems style.

Covering treasure in piles of new treasure

Interesting idea and clever application of it by Simen. Read the whole article — maybe after that you want to fine-tune your Tumblr as well.

A while ago, Cursive Buildings wrote:

Creating a good blog is like writing a good book that no one reads past the first page. creating a good blog is like hiding your treasure under piles of new treasure. creating a bad blog is like burying your trash under piles of new trash.

Today, this article has been making the rounds, and it advises us:

It’s time we create meaningful indexes and put our best — not latest — content up front, instead of just doing what’s easiest.

They’re kind of right[…]. I whipped up a small experiment in (partially) rectifying this on my blog.
